Do you cover the whole Isle of Man?
Yes. Lock Tight Security covers the whole island. We are a mobile locksmith, so we come to you rather than you bringing work to a shop.
Are you available at night and at weekends?
Yes, we answer the phone 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including bank holidays. Emergency work is mostly lockouts, broken keys and doors that will not lock and cannot be left overnight. Call 01624 660320 and we will see how we can help.
How much does it cost to get back into my house?
Most lockouts come to between £70 and £120. Where you land in that range depends on the lock, the door and the time of day. We give you the price on the phone or at the door, before any work starts.
Will you have to break my lock to get me in?
Usually not. Most locks can be picked or manipulated open and left working exactly as they were, which is always the first thing we try. Drilling is a last resort on locks that cannot be opened any other way, and we tell you before we do it.
My UPVC door has stopped locking. Can it be repaired?
In most cases yes, and it is far cheaper than a new door. UPVC doors normally fail at the multipoint mechanism or the cylinder rather than the door itself, and both can be replaced in place.
I have just moved house. Should I change the locks?
Yes, it is worth doing. You have no way of knowing how many keys are out there from previous owners, tenants, tradespeople or agents.
Will new locks satisfy my home insurance?
Yes. We fit to British Standard BS3621, which is the standard home insurers ask for on final exit doors, so a lock we put on will meet your policy requirement. That applies whether it is a lock change after moving in or a repair after a break-in.
Do you fit alarms and CCTV as well as locks?
Yes. We fit and maintain intruder alarms and CCTV for homes and businesses alongside the locksmithing, so one company covers the whole of a property's security. We also install and service safes, and fit access control for commercial premises.
